ITALIAN FILM FOCUS NELL\u2019AFRICA DEL SUD SU PIATTAFORMA ONLINE (25-30 MARZO 2021)<\/strong><\/p>

La 21edizione dell’Italian Film Focus \u00a0(25-30 marzo) si svolger\u00e0 quest\u2019anno come tanti festival in modalit\u00e0 streamer. Una sfida che gli organizzatori di Controluce e le istituzioni italiane coinvolte, IIC Pretoria, Ambasciata d\u2019Italia in Sud Africa, il Consolato generale di Johannesburg, il consolato di Cape Town, ambasciata d\u2019Italia in Zambia. ambasciata d\u2019Italia in Zimbabwe, hanno deciso di cogliere consapevoli dei rischi ma \u00a0anche delle possibilit\u00e0 \u00a0di questo nuovo tipo di fruizione culturale.<\/p>

La piattaforma www.cinekit.it coprir\u00e0 infatti un territorio molto vasto: Sud Africa, Namibia, Zambia e Zimbabwe.\u00a0
Saranno cinque giorni molti intensi, con una selezione di alta qualit\u00e0, che dimostra la variet\u00e0 di generi e tematiche di cui \u00e8 capace il cinema \u00a0italiano. Il programma comprende 11 film dell\u2019ultima stagione presentati nei pi\u00f9 prestigiosi festival internazionali ed un film evento, Giulietta Degli Spiriti, per celebrare le tre volte premio Oscar Federico Fellini nel centenario della sua nascita. Il festival quindi si aprir\u00e0 gioved\u00ec 25 marzo alle ore 18 pm con il pluripremiato film HIDDEN WAY (VOLEVO NASCONDERMI) \u00a0di Giorgio Diritti, il cui protagonista, Elio Germano, ha vinto il premio come miglior attore al festival di Berlino 2021. \u00a0La drammatica storia di un grande pittore autodidatta italiano, Ligabue, sempre i bilico tra genialit\u00e0 e follia. Il regista introdurr\u00e0 il film in diretta e parteciper\u00e0 al Q&A.<\/p>

Il programma prevede una presentazione in diretta con un regista ogni giorno.<\/p>

Il venerd\u00ec 26 ore 18 il regista Mauro Mancini presenter\u00e0 il film \u00a0THOU SHALT NOT HATE (NON ODIARE) con l\u2019acclamato attore e regista Alessandro Gassmann, una storia cruda che scava in profondit\u00e0 nell\u2019anima \u201cnera\u201d dell\u2019Italia e dei personaggi, in cui punizione, vendetta e redenzione, vittime e assassini si confondono.<\/p>

Sabato 27 il regista Guido Lombardi introdurr\u00e0 LADRO DI GIORNI (STOLEN DAYS), film on the road dove una consegna di droga diventa un viaggio di difficile conoscenza tra la prevaricante figura di un padre \u00a0delinquente, interpretato con efficace durezza da Riccardo Scamarcio, ed un figlio a lui sconosciuto. Un rapporto che sembra impossibile ma che alla fine trova una sua ragione nell\u2019amore.<\/p>

I FIGLI (KIDZ) sono anche i protagonisti, a volte involontari, dell\u2019omonimo film opera prima girato con mano inventiva e precisa dal regista Giuseppe Bonito che presenteremo con lui domenica 28. Il divertente calvario della coppia davanti alla \u201cprepotenza\u201d fisica ed affettiva dei figli, sceneggiato con maestria dall\u2019abile penna del rimpianto Mattia Torre.<\/p>

IN HAMMAMET \u00e8 il camaleontico attore Pierfrancesco Favino, vincitore della Coppa Volpi a Venezia 2020, a dare corpo al racconto di un rigoroso regista come Gianni Amelio che per la prima volta si confronta con la politica, i suoi slanci e cadute.<\/p>

\u00c8 addirittura la grande storia, vista attraverso l\u2019acuto sguardo femminile della regista e della protagonista, con una messa in scena impeccabile, che scandisce la trama del film di Susanna Nicchiarelli, MISS MARX.<\/p>

Il viaggio torna ad essere condizione di incontro e confronto anche in una storia decisamente pi\u00f9 intima, ma sempre tra due figure a loro modo emarginate, in GUIDA ROMANTICA A POSTI PERDUTI, con due splendidi attori come Jasmine Trinca e Clive Owen.<\/p>

La malattia e le sue sfide, anche quelle pi\u00f9 imprevedibili, accompagnano invece il racconto di COSA SAR\u00c0 dell\u2019acclamato sceneggiatore e regista Francesco Bruni, film dove l\u2019 autobiografia incontra felicemente la finzione, con Kim Rossi Stuart che sa ben trasmettere la paura ed il coraggio di chi vede cadergli addosso il mondo.<\/p>

Donne innamorate o che vorrebbero disperatamente esserlo agitano le calme acque di una cittadina di mare italiana in BURRACO FATALE, commedia con un cast femminile di primo ordine dove troneggia Claudia Gerini.<\/p>

Un gruppo ormai storico della commedia intelligente italiana, Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo, ritorna brillantemente sulle scene con il film di Massimo Venier ODIO L\u2019ESTATE. A volte la vacanza diventa pi\u00f9 faticosa e stressante della vita quotidiana, soprattutto quando si divide casa con degli sconosciuti, ma l\u2019uomo \u00e8 un animale sociale, e dunque trova sempre soluzioni creative e divertenti\u2026<\/p>

In ultimo, non poteva mancare l\u2019opera o meglio la collezione\\montaggio di uno dei nostri registi pi\u00f9 versatili ed attenti al reale ed alle sue trasformazioni, Gabriele Salvatores, premio Oscar 1992 con MEDITERRANEO. FUORI ERA PRIMAVERA \u00e8 una grande dimostrazione d\u2019amore degli italiani verso il proprio paese, migliaia di testimonianze e piccole storie che Salvatores riesce ad amalgamare, con sensibilit\u00e0 e stile, in un unico e toccante racconto.<\/p>

ITALIAN FILM FOCUS IN SOUTHERN AFRICA, ONLINE STREAMING (25 \u2013 30 March 2021)<\/strong><\/p>

This year the 21st edition of the Italian Film Focus (25-30 March) will take place in virtually online just like so many other festivals. The event is promoted by Controluce and the Italian institutions The Italian Institute of Culture in Pretoria, the Embassy of Italy in South Africa, the Consulate of Italy in Johannesburg, the Consulate of Cape Town, the Embassy of Italy in Zambia, the Embassy of Italy in Zimbabwe. The organizers have decided to meet the challenge in spite of the risks, but aware of the possibilities of this new type of cultural enjoyment.<\/p>

The www.cinekit.it platform will in fact cover a very large territory: South Africa, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
There will be five very intense days, with a high quality selection of films, which demonstrates the variety of genres and themes of which Italian cinema is capable. The program includes 11 films of the last season presented at the most prestigious international festivals and a film event to celebrate the three-time Oscar winner Federico Fellini on the centenary of his birth with JULIET OF THE SPIRITS (Giulietta degli spiriti). The festival will open on Thursday 25 March at 6 pm with the award-winning film HIDDEN AWAY (Volevo Nascondermi) by Giorgio Diritti, whose protagonist Elio Germano won the award for best actor at the Berlin 2021 festival. It is the story of a great Italian self-taught painter, Ligabue, continuously balancing between genius and madness. The director will present the film with a live introduction and participate in the Q&A.<\/p>

The program includes live interactions with a director every day.<\/p>

On Friday 26th at 6pm the director Mauro Mancini will present the film THOU SHALT NOT HATE (Non odiare) with the acclaimed actor and director Alessandro Gassmann. It is a raw story that delves deeply into the “black” soul of Italy and of the characters, where punishment, vengeance and redaction, victims and murderers are being confused.<\/p>

On Saturday 27 the director Guido Lombardi will introduce STOLEN DAYS (Ladro di giorni). It is an on the road film where a drug delivery becomes a journey of difficult knowledge between the prevaricating figure of a delinquent father, played with effective harshness by Riccardo Scamarcio, and his son. A relationship that seems impossible but which ultimately finds its reason in love.<\/p>

KIDZ (Figli) are also, sometimes involuntarily, the leading protagonists of the homonymous first feature film, shot with the inventive and precise skills of the director Giuseppe Bonito who will present the film with us on Sunday 28. The couple’s amusing ordeal in the face of the physical and emotional “impertinence” of their children is masterfully scripted by the skilled pen of regret of Mattia Torre.<\/p>

In HAMMAMET it is the chameleonic actor Pierfrancesco Favino, winner of the Volpi Cup in Venice 2020, to give substance to the story of a rigorous director Gianni Amelio, who for the first time is confronted with politics, its impulses and falls.<\/p>

The plot of MRS MARX is marked by the great story, seen through the female gaze of the director and the protagonist with an impeccable staging.<\/p>

In ROMANTIC GUIDE TO LOST PLACES (Guida romantica a posti perduti) the journey becomes once more a condition of encounter and confrontation in a decidedly more intimate story, but again between two figures that are marginalized in their own way, with two splendid actors such as Jasmine Trinca and Clive Owen.<\/p>

Illness and its even most unpredictable challenges, accompany the story of EVERYTHING\u2019S GONNA BE ALRIGHT (Cosa sar\u00e0) by the acclaimed screenwriter and director Francesco Bruni. It is a film where autobiography happily meets fiction, with Kim Rossi Stuart who knows how to convey fear and courage of those who see the world fall upon them.<\/p>

Women in love or who would desperately like to be in love shake the calm waters of an Italian seaside town in ACE OF HEARTS (Burraco fatale), a comedy with a first-rate female cast starring Claudia Gerini.<\/p>

The by today almost historic party of Italian intelligent comedy could not be missing: Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo, engaged in Massimo Venier’s film I HATE SUMMER (Odio l\u2019estate). Sometimes holidays become more tiring and stressful than everyday life, especially when sharing a house with strangers, but humans are social animals, and therefore always find inventive solutions…<\/p>

Lastly, the selection includes the work, or rather the collection \/ montage of one of our most versatile directors Gabriele Salvatores, Oscar winner 1992 with MEDITERRANEO, showing attention to reality and its transformations in IT WAS SPRING OUTSIDE (Fuori era primavera), a great demonstration of the Italians’ love for their country. Thousands of testimonies and little stories that Salvatores manages to amalgamate, with sensitivity and style, into a single and touching story.<\/p>
