Bettina trained as an art restorer at the Central Institute for Art Restoration in Rome, Italy and has worked as founding member and technical director of the Consortium ARKE ‘ (1985) with headquarters in Rome. She carried out restorations for Italian and International superintendencies and assisted in professional training programmes at ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property), and for the Italian Foreign Ministry and their cooperation and development programmes.
In 2001 she moves to Cape Town for family reasons where she works on commission for institutions and businesses such as the SA National Gallery, University of Cape Town, Stevenson Gallery, Fine Arts, Italian Embassy, various Western Cape wine farms and Nazareth House. Lecture for the University of Cape Town (Conservation Week of the Curatorship programme). She also paints portraits on commission. In the same year she got involved with Controluce in the organization of the first edition of the Italian Film Festival in Cape Town, with Antonio Falduto and Albert Ianuzzi. |
