It usually takes three or four decades to get ready for parenthood, but Ferro and Cate have only nine months: the wildest months of their lives in which they are unaware of the incoming storm. They will worry about the baby once it is born, because now, along with their friends, they need to prepare for matric. They need to think about the longest summer of their lives, to imagine the house they will live in together and to bear their teen age dreams in mind. But if they stay light as a feather and with their heart in the right place, maybe they will manage.

Di solito ci si mette trenta o quarant’anni per essere pronti a diventare genitori. Ferro e Cate hanno solo nove mesi, i mesi burrascosi delle loro vite, anche se loro non hanno ancora capito la tempesta che sta arrivando: alla bambina ci penseranno quando nasce. E poi comunque devono preparare la maturità insieme agli amici, vogliono pensare all’estate più lunga della loro vita, alla casa dove stare insieme, ai loro sogni di diciottenni. Ma se rimangono leggeri come una piuma e con il cuore dalla parte giusta, allora forse ce la possono fare.
